Ontario Secondary School Diploma
The education system of high schools by the Ministry of Education in Ontario, Canada is similar to that of high schools in the United States, England, and Australia, and the curriculum and levels of difficulty with these courses are similar to those of schools in the United States, England, and Australia.
Therefore, students who take Canadian high school (OSSD) courses and apply to other Western, Asian and European universities will also be well connected and received. Students can either attend face to face classes in Penang-Malaysia (at MapleLeaf Academy, Malaysia /or Online from your home country or anywhere that is most comfortable to you as a student.
Many international schools across Asia offer AP, IB, IGCSE ‘O’ and A-level courses as an option for students who wish to gain an internationally accredited high school qualification. The Canadian High School (OSSD) provides the same international recognition with a more interactive learning experience - Its Global with local appreciation to different cultures and learning environment.
AP’s full name is Advanced Placement, and it is a university course the American Council of Colleges and Universities offers that is at a high school level.
IB refers to the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP), which is recognized by many prestigious schools as an additional indicator of a student’s academic interests and abilities.
A-Level is the General Certificate of Education Advanced Level (GCEA), which is the main test course for UK students before entering university.
Whereas the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) is Canadian and gains straight-forward entry into colleges and universities in Canada and the rest of the world.
